The Ralpho Township supervisors have voted to allow a roadside wine stand in a residential district.

Before their monthly meeting Tuesday, the supervisors unanimously gave a green light to Matt Tehansky, owner of Coal Region Winery, to place a roadside stand on his property along Route 487 in Elysburg. Tehansky’s winery is based in Shamokin.

After the meeting, Tehansky said he was glad.

“I want the residents to be aware I’m going to totally comply with Ralpho Township and PennDOT,” he said.
