SNAP families offered tickets to shows

Families receiving SNAP benefits can grab free tickets to see Bloomsburg Theatre Ensemble’s Saturday, Dec. 27, performances of “A Charlie Brown Christmas.”

Thanks to Geisinger Medical Center and Fulton Bank, 100 free tickets are available for the 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. shows.

Cindy Shultz , BTE’s interim managing director, said the gift is meant to help families already facing rising costs be able to experience professional theatre.

Forget for a moment how few shopping days there are till Christmas; right now, there are even fewer grievance-gathering days until Festivus.
Festivus, on Dec. 23, is the “holiday for the rest of us” popularized in a 1997 “Seinfeld” episode. That show’s Festivus celebration famously began with the airing of grievances; in the words of one character, George Costanza’s father, to his assembled guests, “I got a lot of problems with you people. Now you’re gonna hear about it.”
