A Catawissa man was cited for traveling too fast in snowy conditions when he lost control of his pickup and struck a tree along Peat Moss Road here, State Police at Shickshinny reported.

Austin Reeder , 21, was traveling south in a 2021 Ford F-150 when he failed to make a left curve and went off the road about 5:45 a.m. on Dec. 11, police said.

One of his passengers, 22-year-old Dezmond Vanderpool of Hunlock Creek, was taken by Sweet Valley ambulance to Wilkes-Barre General Hospital for treatment of a possible injury.

I really had a laugh when I saw about the new guy in charge of the plowing snow in Bloomsburg here. What a joke this guy must be. What is he from a town with 10 people in it, with no college, no schools, and no hospital? Don’t plow snow if there’s only six inches of snow. As cool as it’s been, you know how icy the roads would be if they weren’t plowed? I think I’ll open a body shop because there’s going to be a lot of business if we don’t plow the roads. This guy is a real goof.
